My name is Mike Smith. I am a self – employed Traditional Mole catcher living in North West Surrey, close to Junction 11 of the M25. Originally from North Yorkshire, I grew up on a working farm where, in my teens, I was introduced to the art of Traditional Mole catching by my uncle (using scissor traps). A successful career in local government spanning 31 years took me away from Yorkshire first to Hertfordshire for three years and then to Surrey, where I now live with my wife and family.
Retirement in 2007 came following the tragic loss of my mother to cancer in 2005, my father’s subsequent ill health and a personal life choices decision, which allows me to be closer to my remaining family and start a new career. A return to Mole catching presents an exciting opportunity to re –connect with the outdoor life using traditional skills.
A member of The British Traditional Mole Catchers Register, my aim is to provide a reliable and professional eco – friendly mole control service which has one simple approach to its customers – “No Mole…… No Money.”
